Opening of The Clermont

November 2019

The Clermont Bar, Bistro & Chairman's Restaurant opened to the public on the 29th November.  McMahon Associates were Lead Consultants, Civil & Structural Engineers, Assigned Certifier and PSDP on this fast-track redevelopment.  We wish Mark & Ken every success with this new venture!


Lean Construction Conference

October 2019

Muriel was a guest speaker at the Lean Construction National Conference held in Croke Park.   She was part of a panel of experts discussing the Rapid Delivery of Housing which included Sean Armstrong from the Department of Housing and Breege Kilkenny from Wicklow County Council .


Iarnród Éireann Corporate HQ

September 2019

McMahon Associates have recently completed a Building Condition Survey & Structural Appraisal of the Corporate Headquarters of Iarnród Éireannn on Amiens Street.  This building dates back to 1879 and is a protected structure.  The 40,000ft2 building is being redeveloped to provide office accommodation for Iarnród Éireann staff.


Irish Rail South Carpark at Maynooth Station

July 2019

Construction has commenced on the carpark extension to Maynooth Train Station to the south of the tracks.  P&D Lydon are the Main Contractor.  Works are expected to be completed in 14 weeks and will result in the provision of 40 additional carparking spaces.


Handover of 24 Units

June 2019

June saw the handover of 24 Units at Kilsough Gardens in Balbriggan to Fingal County Council.  This scheme was part of the Rebuilding Ireland Initative. McMahon Associates provided Civil & Structural Engineering Services.


Construction Industry Awards

April 2019

Peter & Muriel are delighted that McMahon Associates have been shortlisted for "Engineering Firm of the Year" at the Construction Industry Awards 2019!  We have also been shortlisted for the Combilift Development in the category of "Large Commercial Project of the Year".  We look forward to the awards ceremony on the 13th June in the Citywest Hotel.


Modular Construction

March 2019

A 500 sq metre modular building is to be provided for the Operations Department of Fingal County Council in Coolmine, Blanchardstown.  This building will provide office accommodation and changing facilities for the depot staff.  Instaspace have been appointed and will complete the project in 3 months.  McMahon Associates are providing Civil & Structural engineering services to Fingal County Council and recently visited Instaspace's production facility to inspect the construction of the modular building.


Extension to ABP Facility

February 2019

Work is progressing well on the extension to the ABP meat processing facility in Lurgan.  Cladding is completed and the development is on target for handover in May 2019.  McMahon Associates are Civil & Structural Engineers on the project and have an active role throughout the construction phase.


TU Dublin, Blanchardstown

January 2019

The new home for Academic & Student Services at the Technological University Dublin, Blanchardstown Campus was opened earlier this month.  McMahon Associates were the Civil & Structural Engineers on this project which is an addition to the first class student experience at the campus.


Fingal County Council

December 2018

McMahon Associates have delivered over 120 houses with Fingal County Council in 2018.  We have provided Civil & Structural Engineering services for new developments including St Patrick's Grange in Ballyboughal, Racecourse Commons in Lusk and Pinewood in Balbriggan, and numerous refurbished dwellings throughout the county.  We look forward to working with them in 2019 to deliver more houses under the Rebuilding Ireland Initiative.


24 Houses for Christmas!

December 2018

24 Social Houses on the Killininny Road, Tallaght were handed over to South Dublin County Council, in time for families to move in for Christmas.  Muriel, as Employers Representative was responsible for the delivery of the houses under the OGP Rapid Delivery Framework with Forrme Construction.


Tánaiste Simon Coveney

October 2018

Muriel & Peter were delighted to be invited to join Tánaiste Simon Coveney and Minister Heather Humphries for a  breakfast meeting in Monaghan on the 19th October.   The discussions included the current Brexit negotiations, the potential effects on McMahon Associates and the support available from the Irish Government and agencies.
